Currently our San Diego office is searching for a senior statistician to join their growing team. The position would be responsible for leading and conducting the research and development of statistical models and algorithms used for predicting consumer behavior and estimation of geographic based potential consumer expenditures and potential retail sales. Candidates would have the opportunity to provide sales support and documentation as required for all analytic and data products/services.

Key Responsibilities

§ Develop, implement, document, and support Consumer Demand Potential database

§ Develop, implement, and document processes for checking and QA of quarterly demographic updates

§ Develop implement, document, and support Retail Potential database

§ Secondary tasks        

§ Support modeling needs of ElementOne segmentation

§ Assist with expanding variable coverage in demographics database

Qualifications

§ A minimum of six (6) years experience conducting and applying statistical analysis and techniques for prediction and inference

§ Experience using SAS

§ Good writing and verbal communication skills

§ Demonstrated ability to direct work of others and coordinate their efforts to achieve desired goals and objectives

§ Ability to clearly present and explain statistical models and concepts to non-technical audiences

§ Working knowledge of data and techniques commonly used for creating geodemographic statistical models a plus

§ Some experience with Census geographies and data including 2000 Census, Survey of Consumer Expenditures, and Census of Retail Trade also a pus

§ Advanced SAS programming skills and experience with PL/SQL preferred

§ Experience working with and supporting field sales groups and end users

Education

§ Bachelors degree required

§ Post graduate degree with emphasis in applied statistical modeling and estimation also preferred
